Rachel Rose tours FOCOS facility with renowned photojournalist
Rachel Rose, a Houston-based attorney and Jeremy Lock, a renowned photojournalist visited the facility for a tour on Thursday January 5, 2016.
The visit was to learn more about health care in other countries, as well as write an article to highlight the state of the medical health care system i.e. in orthopaedics and complex spine surgeries in Africa.
“FOCOS caught my attention because of the emphasis on deformity correction. Having studied comparative health care systems, I find it invaluable to learn how different countries utilize speciality hospitals,” she reiterated. According to Ms Rose, she first became interested in the health system in Ghana in 2005 during business school when a classmate of hers did a presentation in class about it.
Rachel V. “My goal will be to see the article put in perspective the world class service and care provided by FOCOS hospital and hopefully catch the attention of donors and philanthropists to come in and support the phenomenal work that Dr. Boachie-Adjei and his team are doing here in Ghana and Africa,” Rachel said when asked about her vision for the project.
