Cornell University student donates to FOCOS
Nicole Agaronnik, a student of the College of Human Ecology at Cornell University and former scoliosis patient has donated braces to FOCOS Orthopedic Hospital on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, as a way of giving back to underprivileged children who suffer from complex spine deformities.
As a leader of Curvy Girls, an international scoliosis group that supports adolescents living with the condition, her primary aim for visiting FOCOS was first to donate the braces, interact with the children and share her experience with them. In all, she donated 4 braces to the hospital. Nicole was also accompanied by her mother Viktoria Agaronnik, a Physical Therapist to make the donation.
“We have known about FOCOS for a long time now and the incredible care the hospital gives to people who really need them so we know that the braces will be very helpful to the kids here, that is why we decided to bring them here.” She added.
The donation was received by Edith Nkrumah, Senior Finance Manager and Afua Asomaning, the Academic Coordinator on behalf of the hospital.
