FOCOS Surgeon-In-Chief ends Strategic Trip to Sierra Leone
Founder, CEO and Surgeon-In-Chief of FOCOS Orthopaedic Hospital, Prof Oheneba Boachie-Adjei has successfully climaxed his trip to Makeni in Sierra Leone.
The trip which was necessitated by a proposed strategic clinical partnership program between: FOCOS Orthopedic Hospital in Accra-Ghana, the Holy Spirit Hospital (HSH) in Makeni-Sierra Leon, a non-profit organization providing healthcare and surgical services to needy people in Sierra Leone as well as Africa Surgery Incorporated, a non-profit organization which provides health care and surgical services to needy people in Sierra Leone.
As part of the partnership, Prof Oheneba-Boachie-Adjei will equip HSH staff with skills in the various clinical protocols needed for optimum care of spine patients. In addition, the FOCOS CEO and his team are expected to return to Makeni between the months of August and September, to hold their first Clinic at HSH.
Other participants in the strategic partnership meeting were: Dr Patrick Turay, Chief Medical Officer – HSH,Abu Benjamin Tarawali, M.B. Mansaray, Harodleen Thorpe, Rev. Sr Norah Anne Oyagi, Matron Ann Marie Koroma and Gaelle Smith. HSH is a 90-bed Catholic faith based charity hospital in Makeni, the largest city in the northern province of Sierra Leone with a population 800,000.
Over the years FOCOS Orthopedic Hospital has built strategic partnerships with several hospitals across the globe like: the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, Cedarcrest Hospital in Nigeria and many others.
