Mavis Kwateng joins FOCOS as Director of Nursing
Mavis Kwateng has joined FOCOS Orthopedic Hospital as the Director of Nursing to oversee the activities of the nursing unit and comprehensive patient care.
Miss Kwateng is a public health professional with significant experience in healthcare delivery with a focus on prevention, treatment and addressing social determinants of health within Sub-Saharan Africa, and United States of America. She is also passionate about maternal and child health, the incidence of malaria HIV/AIDS, TB.
Over her years of practice, she has demonstrated to be exceptionally proactive and innovative and has directed several complex projects from concept to full implementation. Prior to her position at FOCOS, she had worked with notable organizations like Sanford World Clinic Ghana as Director of Clinic and Kimoyo (NGO) as Chief of Operations. She has volunteered for several projects including STOP Polio Team Ghana, Project HOPE Ghana with University of Michigan at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) and World Health Organization, Ghana Office; MPH Practicum.
She holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing, St Louis, MO and a Master’s Degree in Public Health from Walden University US. Miss Kwateng is also a member of the American Critical Care Association, American Nurses Association, American Public Health Association and Global Health Council.
Her addition to the FOCOS team will complement our efforts of providing first class health care for patients who visit our facility.
