Miss Ghana Foundation pays courtesy visit to FOCOS CEO

The Miss Ghana Foundation together with 2018 winners of the pageant, paid a courtesy visit to the CEO of FOCOS Orthopedic Hospital, Prof. Oheneba Boachie-Adjei on Thursday, January 10, 2019.
Led by Miss Inna Patty, Executive Director of the Miss Ghana Foundation, the delegation formally introduced the 2018 winners to the FOCOS CEO and reiterated their commitment to sponsor the surgery of a child every year. “First and foremost we felt it important to formally introduce the newly crowned queens. As you are aware they automatically take off as the ambassadors for Miss Ghana Foundation and as part of their responsibilities they carry out fundraising activities” Inna said.
“Like we mentioned last year when we started off with Gifty, that we would like to sponsor a minimum of one child a year and we will also use this opportunity to choose a patient, this time we thought we should sponsor a boy” she explained.
Prof. Oheneba Boachie-Adjei, “we are pleased that you can sponsor a patient and that is a very good cause to give life to someone who really needs it so much. For someone like her if she hadn’t had surgery in the next five years you would have probably seen her suffering from pain and difficulty in breathing and may not even be alive”.
He added that, “Unfortunately not everyone can afford the type of surgeries we do. We have about a thousand more patients who need help but can’t afford it so whatever you can do helps”.
The team later visited the children’s block to spend time with the kids on admission.
Also present at the meeting were: Gifty Amuzu, Nana Ama Benson the overall winner; first runner up Laila Issaka; second runner up Elizabeth Mary Maclean; Mavis Kwateng the Director of Nursing; Nana Kwame Fordjour Development Manager; Andrew Nana Kwame Essuman Senior Development Officer; Paschalina Adaamba Senior Patient Advocate; Deborah Asamoah Patient Advocate and Monica Ocloo Gifty’s mother.
