Miss Ghana Foundation sponsors boy with Scoliosis

Miss Ghana Foundation sponsors boy with Scoliosis
March 7, 2019Uncategorized

A team from the Miss Ghana Foundation, led by Inna Patty, the Executive Director donated a cash cheque amount of $10,000 to the FOCOS Orthopedic Hospital on Friday March 1, 2019, towards the surgery of a boy suffering from Scoliosis.

Richard Kussi, a 16 year old teenager suffering from congenital scoliosis. Essentially, this is the second time the Miss Ghana Foundation is sponsoring a patient’s surgery at FOCOS.

Last year, they sponsored the surgery of young Gifty Amuzu, who underwent a successful surgery to correct a spinal condition known as scoliosis. The sponsorship of Richard Kussi, is a fulfillment to a promise they made when the visited our facility in 2017, to sponsor the surgery of at least one individual each year.

During the presentation, Dr. Arthur Sackeyfio, a Spine Surgeon at FOCOS also gave an in-depth explanation to Richard Kussi’s condition as well as the possible causes and treatment.

Dr. Arthur Sackeyfio together with Mavis Kwateng, the Director of Nursing received the cheque on behalf of the hospital and commended Miss Ghana Foundation for their continuous support to the Hospital.

The Miss Ghana Foundation is the charity wing of the Miss Ghana organization that oversees the social intervention and humanitarian responsibilities of the group. The foundation also equips young women with the necessary skills to be discerning and functional in society.
