Orthopaedic Surgeon, Dr. Arthur Sackeyfio joins FOCOS Medical Team
Dr. Arthur Sackeyfio, M.D, an Orthopedic Surgeon has recently joined the FOCOS Orthopaedic Hospital medical team as a Senior Specialist.
He is a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons (Trauma and Orthopaedics) and a Member of the Ghana College of Surgeons.
He trained at the School of Medical Sciences, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, and graduated with a (BSc. Human Biology, MBCh.B). Dr. Sackeyfio proceeded to do his Residency and Fellowship training at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Ghana, with both the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons, and the West African College of Surgeons.
During his residency training, he was awarded Best Workers’ Award of the Trauma and Orthopaedics Division of the Department of Surgery at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for the year 2015, and served as the Deputy Chief Resident of the Department of Surgery.
Prior to joining the FOCOS Orthopaedic Hospital, he worked with the Tamale Teaching Hospital and the School of Medicine and Health Sciences (University of Development Studies) as a Part-Time Lecturer.
Over his years of practice, he has authored and co-authored three publications namely: Translation, Adaptation and Validation of The Amharic Version of the Scoliosis Research Society – 22 (SRS – 22), Surgical Management of Spinal Lesions in Neurofibromatosis and Protocol for Management of Pediatric Emergencies.
Aside his medical practice, Dr. Sackeyfio is an active sportsman who enjoys soccer, swimming and physical exercises. He also directs music and volunteers in community health service advocacy campaigns.
His inclusion to the FOCOS medical team will help extend our footprints in musculoskeletal health across Africa.
