Dr. Nana Kwame Boa-Antwi is a Specialist Physician and a Senior Neurology Resident of the West African College of Physicians. He attended Prempeh College where he had his secondary education from 1999 to 2001. He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree from the KNUST School of Medicine Sciences in 2009.
He served at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) and the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) in the capacities of a House Officer, Senior House Officer and Medical Officer, and then proceeded to have his Specialist training at KATH in Internal Medicine with the West African College of Physicians, completing in 2015.
As a Physician Specialist, he worked at the Tamale Teaching Hospital for a year during which he also served as a part-time lecturer at the UDS-School of Medicine and Health Sciences and as a visiting Specialist Physician to the then Upper West Region. From there, he moved to the VRA Health Services as a full-time Specialist Physician and the Head of the Internal Medicine unit for about 6 years, during which he run clinics at the VRA hospitals in Akosombo, Akrade and Accra, and was a lead Facilitator for the planning of an ultramodern Neuro-Rehabilitation and Research Centre at Akosombo.
In 2016, he worked as a visiting Specialist Physician at the Ho Teaching Hospital (“Trafalgar”) and was appointed as a part-time lecturer at the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) Medical School. He joined the enviable workforce of the FOCOS Orthopaedic Hospital in 2022 after beginning his Neurology Subspecialty Fellowship Training with the West African College of Physicians following an inclusive, fully sponsored 3-month Neurology observership training at the University of Utah Teaching Hospital, Salt Lake City, in the United States of America.
He is a member of the Ghana Medical Association (GMA), Neurology Society of Ghana, and the Movement Disorders Society (MDS).
