I walked to FOCOS Orthopedic Hospital for the first time in 2015 through the recommendation of a family friend to meet with Dr Ogyaadu, the joint surgeon. I had been living with a Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) condition for some years, which I was managing.
Early 2018, my condition worsened and I had to be put in a wheelchair. I was told I had to do replacement surgeries on both knees and hips. The cost involved was huge so we had to find a means to raise the money, which was very difficult for us.
I was surprised when I got a call from a gentleman from the hospital saying that I had gotten some sponsorship to do some of my surgery, from the Ghana National Petroleum Authority (GNPC). It was a miracle and a welcome news to us! I must say I was very impressed and satisfied with all the care and assistance I was given right from Out Patient Department, to the wards and the physio department.
The care and prompt attention given me when I was on admission is unparalleled. Polite and diligent in their care. The serene environment of the hospital also added to my recovery…I guess 🙂
My experience at the physio department was also good. Madam Selina was very helpful and patient to carry me through the therapy; I recovered fast by God’s grace. To Dr. Joseph Ogyaadu, Dr. Wulff, the Chief Anesthesiologist, Miss Claudia Owusu, the Physician Assistant and all who assisted me, I am very grateful.
To the company that helped pay for my knees surgery, my family and I are most grateful. Now I can walk and go about living a normal lifestyle.
I will keep recommending FOCOS Orthopedic Hospital to everyone I share my story with.
