With over 35 years of distinguished experience in physical asset management, Joseph Ashun is a results-driven leader renowned for his ability to reduce maintenance costs and optimize equipment uptime in asset-intensive industries. His expertise bridges maintenance, operations, supply chain, and finance, fostering alignment across business processes to deliver strategic value.

Joseph holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s in Engineering and Project Management from the University of Southern Queensland. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Ontario, Canada, and an esteemed member of the Ghana Institute of Engineers. As the Founder and Principal Consultant of Yorktown Business & Technology Consulting Inc. in Mississauga, Ontario, Joseph has established himself as a trusted advisor in physical asset management. His subject matter expertise has been recognized by Ernst & Young’s Center of Excellence in Mining and Metals, where he contributes impactful insights to the industry.

Joseph’s prior roles include Global Senior Manager of Asset Management at Barrick Gold Corporation, Principal Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Principal Consultant at IBM Canada. His client portfolio features prestigious organizations such as Harvard University, the New York State Department of Health, the Department of Defence Canada, British Columbia Ferries, Sherritt Nickel, and Baffinland Iron Ore.

A contributing author of “Asset Management Excellence” and a sought-after speaker on the asset management circuit, Joseph is dedicated to sharing best practices and innovative strategies. Recently, he enhanced his expertise in governance by completing a “Board Governance” certificate program at the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania.
