In the heart of Kumasi, Ghana, a young girl named Mary embraced life with boundless energy. However, at just five years old, her parents noticed a concerning deformity that began to alter her childhood. Determined to find answers, they sought medical help at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. Their search for a solution eventually led them to FOCOS Hospital in 2020, where they received a glimmer of hope—Mary’s condition could be corrected through surgery.

Despite the challenges ahead, her family remained steadfast, trusting in the kindness of others. Their prayers were answered in December 2021 when FOCOS GALA (2023) stepped forward to fully fund Mary’s surgery. It was a moment of immense relief and joy. By November 2024, she was admitted to FOCOS Hospital, where she underwent a successful surgery with no complications.

From nutritious meals that fueled her healing to engaging physiotherapy sessions that rebuilt her strength, every aspect of her care was designed to restore her to full health. The unwavering support of the hospital staff, who treated her like family, made all the difference.
