The Department of Nutrition & Dietetics at FOCOS Orthopaedic Hospital is committed to providing the highest quality nutritional care. We believe in a nutritionally balanced diet in terms of calories, proteins, fats, carbohydrates, minerals, electrolytes and vitamins which are essential for general well-being. Meals when balanced enhance the immunity of an individual by providing daily requirement of nutrients to the body.
Malnutrition (both under and over nutrition) especially in children is one major health concern in Sub-Saharan Africa and predisposes the body to many risk factors. Our dietetic team works hand in hand with other interdisciplinary health care professionals to provide an all-inclusive nutritional care package for patients especially paediatric patients who are malnourished and promote optimal surgical outcomes.
Out-Patient Services
Our dietetic team works with individuals and groups of all ages to assess nutritional health and provide recommendations and therapies to assist individuals and groups in achieving a diet based on scientific evidence. Comprehensive diet therapy is available for the following:
Cafeteria Services
Our kitchen also combines palatability with proper balance of nutrients in meals for healthy life. We serve both local and continental dishes cooked by observing strict protocols on hygiene. A team of devoted and efficient kitchen staff work hand in hand to ensure the best meals are served all day long to staff, patients and visitors.
