FOCOS HOSPITAL COMMISSIONS ENDOSCOPY SUITE & OUTPATIENT EXTENSION

FOCOS Hospital has commissioned an Endoscopy Suite and an Outpatient extension on its premises. This is in line with the hospital’s mission to provide quality and affordable healthcare to the populace.
Endoscopy is a medical diagnostic procedure in which a scope is inserted either orally or through the colon to view internal body organs or to take body tissue samples for further study. It is recommended by experts that after age 40years, colonoscopy is performed as a routine screening for cancers of the gastrointestinal system. An extended Outpatient Clinic space also allows more room for patients and provide space for consultants who seek to establish their practice in a quality-oriented environment.
The Medical Director of the Hospital, Dr. Irene Adorkor Wulff, in her remarks noted that the Endoscopy Service would provide top quality diagnostic care for both Upper and Lower Gastrointestinal regions of the body with sedation for optimum patient comfort. She cut the ribbon together with the Associate Medical Director, Dr. Gerhard Ofori- Amankwah in the presence of management and staff of the hospital. The service is available to the public from Mondays to Fridays through an appointment scheduling system.
By its plethora of clinical and diagnostic services including MRI, CT Scan, X Ray and Laboratory tests, the hospital is better positioned as a one stop shop for treatment of various medical conditions and provider of quality diagnostics services. The hospital also has a vibrant Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation Unit, Dietician Services and a Community Pharmacy.
