I had been living with a curved spine for three years. The condition prevented me from performing basic house chores and simple activities at school. Walking, sitting and standing over a period of time was a big challenge for me. I was always sad and isolated because that was the only way to avoid mockery and intimidation from my peers.
I first visited FOCOS in June 2017 through a referral from my teacher who was once a FOCOS patient Millicent Kwaakyewaa Addai. After a series of investigations, it was ascertained that I was living with Scoliosis, a life threatening condition which requires a surgery to correct. After clinic, we were given a bill which my parents lamented they cannot afford. A year later, I was called to come have surgery which came as great news for the family.
A very good hospital with staffs of its kind gave me a nice treat and good services which gave me so much joy. After my surgery, I received follow up calls after discharge just to ensure I was fine at home. I am now back to school and can do a lot of activities without pain. Thank you to Prof. Boachie and Dr. Yankey for sponsoring my surgery and saving my life. I am sincerely grateful to the entire FOCOS staffs for all the love and support.
I will recommend FOCOS to family and friends for their high level of care, professionalism and serene environment that speeds up patient recovery.
