FOCOS Founder honored at Dream Makers Gala
Founder/President and CEO of the Foundation of Orthopedic and Complex Spine (FOCOS), Prof. Oheneba Boachie-Adjei was last weekend honored for his contribution towards orthopedic healthcare delivery in the world, at the Dream Makers Gala held at the Banquet Hall of the State House, in Accra Ghana.
Prof. Oheneba Boachie-Adjei together with His Excellency John Agyekum Kufuor, former President of Ghana, Freeman Gobah, Country Director of Pencils of Promise, Ghana, Dikembe Mutombo, NBA legend and Philantropist as well as Dr. Ayorkor Korsah, Head of the Computer Science Department at Ashesi University and Co-Founder of the African Robotics Network, were honored at this maiden event.
Presenting the award was the Managing Director of Goldman Sachs, Ms Lisa Opoku, who recounted her first encounter with Prof. Boachie-Adjei and the inspiration she took from him several years ago. Lisa also praised Prof for establishing one of the best orthopedic hospitals in the world and commended him for his selfless leadership evinced in his numerous accolades and patients who lived better lives after their encounter with him.
“President Kufuor could have gone anywhere in the world for his spinal surgery, but chose FOCOS because he knew he was in good hands,” Lisa said. Prof. Oheneba Boachie-Adjei who was out of the country the, received the award in absentia.
The Dream Makers Award honors individuals, foundations and institutions that are leading social programs to positively impact the welfare of the people. Dream Makers Gala, was a curtain –raiser for the Ghana Investment Summit, 2017, an event that brought together a global network of entrepreneurs, executives and investors, for two days of networking and investment match-making sessions.
