FOCOS participates in WACS conference
FOCOS Orthopaedic Hospital, has participated in the 2017 edition West Africa College of Surgeons (WACS) conference in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, as part our commitment to the professional body.
The week-long conference which started from Monday 27, February and ended on March 4, 2017, brought together Physicians in diverse areas of specialization like Anaestisia, Neurosurgery, Radiology, Orthopaedics and many more, from many countries across the West African sub-region. FOCOS Orthopaedic Hospital sent a four member team to participate in the conference and the team comprises: two Neurosurgeons, Dr. Akoto and Dr. Yankey, the Development Manager, Nana Kwame Fordjour and a Registered Nurse Clement Sefa Okyere.
The team lead, Dr. Harry Akoto did a presentation on Creating Sustainable Research protocols at a private specialty hospital in Ghana, a study conducted by Prof. Ohene Boachie-Adjei, Dr. Wulff and Dr. Joseph Ogyaaadu, on Monday March 1, 2017. FOCOS secured an exhibition stand to showcase some of its contribution towards Orthopaedic health delivery in Africa.
Physicians at the conference were introduced to modern trends of doing things in various medical fields. WACS is an association set up to promote, organize and conduct of postgraduate education and training in Surgery as well as related disciplines and specialties in West Africa through the composition of Faculties. As part of this year’s event, new executives were elected to spear the affairs of the association. This year’s conference brought together nationals from 17 West African countries.
