FOCOS Patient’s Bank Loan paid in Full
The Foundation of Orthopaedics and Complex Spine, FOCOS USA took a decision to pay off a loan with accrued interest, valued at GHC23,112.32 which a patient’s mother Mrs. Mabel Nartey, took from her bank by cater for the surgical expenses of her daughter, Phoebe Makafui Akinny.
This payment was made on 27th February, 2017 as part of its patient sponsorship for the year. When news reached Mrs. Nartey of the settlement of her debt at the bank, she was overjoyed. “I can’t thank Prof. Oheneba Boachie-Adjei and his team at FOCOS for helping my child have a bright future again,” she said.
Ms. Phoebe Makafui is a promising teenager who is 17 year old born in La, Accra. She went through three (3) major correctional surgeries in October, November, and February respectively, by Prof Oheneba Boachie-Adjei (MD) and Dr Kwadwo Yankey.
The 3 Major surgeries: (Posterior spinal fusion T4-L3, Posterior mesa segmental instrumentation T4-L3 and Local bone graft and 10cc of cancellous allograft.) performed on 25/10/2016. Phoebe went through the surgeries successfully with no complications. The benefactor is still on admission after her final surgery and will be discharged in due time to join her friends and family and go back to school.
